Hi I’m after some advice really and would be ever so greatful if someone would be willing to help. Im already in the vinyl and sublimation side of creative making and i went on hoilday to Alcudia and saw lots of people engraving door signs, lighters, braclets, keyrings and alot more. From that moement i said to my husband I would love to expand and touch on this as I feel my customers I already have would love theese items but it would also open me up to even more. The machiene they where using was a gravograph is200 I took this name from there machiene as my sister was buying from them. Ive tryed googling and ebay but not had alot of luck.

If anyone could tell me of any details such as a good machiene if thats not any good or a different machiene they reccomend, where i should be looking or anything like this i would be so greatful, im thinking i just want to work with metal products as start up price is probelly more my price range however there was a man engraving photots into glass with a laser machiene that would be great if in my price range if i could do the glass aswell as the metal.

Once again thank you very much

Might be best to do a bit more research before you start looking at buying a machine, big difference between mechanical & laser engraving & once you have seen what each type of machine is capable of doing you might feel differently about what your existing customers would buy & the new markets that could open up for you.

As Martin says, engraving/marking equipment varies considerably depending on its intended use. First thing would be to decide exactly what segments of the market/product lines you intend supporting. Then perhaps explain this to the various suppliers who should be able to guide you to the most suitable equipment for your needs. Laser, rotary, scribing, etching processes etc, all have their own pros and cons. Your eventual choice could mean make or break. I’d say, best to research that area first.

You will be able to a huge amount more with a laser engraver than a rotary.
I would never buy a rotary as a 1st engraver , I would buy a laser first and then a rotary to compliment it…..

Savanna, Rodney is an engraving guru, might be worth listening to what he has to say :lol1:
