exhibition signs – will velcro support them?
hi folks ive got an 8×2 foamx board (10mm) to place onto a stand at an exhibiton .just wondering how the best way to go about it .the area which it is to be placed has got a type of felt like material .Im sure most of you will know what i mean there very often used in offices to partition areas off .and ive seen them used in garage showrooms .I thought velcro might be the answer (if its strong enough) to place the sign ……any advice appreciated

I don’t have much to do with exhibition work, although I know some of the others do, but I think velcro may well be the way to go as long as the stand is strong enough, and the board isn’t actually hanging by velcro-if you know what I mean?

We have used the velcro like tape before on exhibition panels …. but we did use 3mm pvc …. the 10mm although light still seemed quite heavy for the flimsy ehibition panels to support.

brian the velcro i have in stock is very strong, i got it from bruce douglas in dundee its about £25 per roll (you need two) its really good stuff 😀

Hi Brian,
10mm seems a little on the heavy side.
What we tend to do is staple one half of the vecro to the felt panel as the glue itself will not hold well enough. then just stick the other half to the back of the foam board.
