    Hi Guys

Never had this problem before and hope it is just the artwork somehow. I received a PDF and I ripped the clients file to the printer, on the top corner of the print they had put a gradient (12 small squares going from about 5% up to 100% black) The last 6 or so squares had a pool of ink on it and as the print came out and hung down the ink actually ran down the print there was so much 😮 Profiles and material were correct and matched and have not had this problem before so hopeing it is these marks only somehow.

Anybody have any ideas as to why so much ink would be laid down.

    cheers

    Warren

You sure those darker squares aren’t

    100%M Y C

    along with the black?

I’ve never seen ink run though.

    What are you printing on?
    Temperatures?

jasons on the case i think and the max ink load is set to high. most of mine are set to a max of around 275% max ink

open in PS and see the cmyk levels on the dark areas

pigmented ink on to dye ink only material will also do this

    Thanks Jason, you hit the nail on the head. In PS they have assigned CMYK to these and no wonder there was a puddle of ink, they had;

    C – 75
    M – 68
    Y – 67
    K – 90

I was hoping it would be the artwork rather than the printer

    Cheers
