    Hi Guys

A customer wants us to etch some large windows in an office. It has to look the same as a set of windows already etched in the office next door.
The only way I can describe the stuff that is already in place is that it looks like Crystal Etch but with a definite smoked effect to it. Quite darker than the normal stuff.

    Anyone seen anything like this?
I’ve tried all my usual suppliers.

    Thanks

    Tim

I think Avery or 3m have a smoked brown etch in their range. I originally bought some from Spandex

    Thanks Steve

This is a definite grey smoke but I will have a look at my Avery swatches.

Yeh 3M do a range of tinted etch… i might be wrong but i "think" mactac do it also, but not in as many colours.
I remember standing looking at the 3M ones on display a couple of years back at signuk with andrew boyle. it may be wrong but im sure it was on the WmSmith stand. they had various other style of patterned glass effect films amongst the coloured etch.

    No mate
I’ve seen it up close, there is also a wide border around the sides left clear.

    3M Series 7725-300SE
    Scotchcalâ„¢ Electrocutâ„¢ Frosted Crystal

7725-300SE frosted colors by design resemble sand-blasted glass. Frosted crystal film has a clear permanent adhesive on a transparent synthetic release liner.

As i mentioned yesterday about seeing the display on the WmSmith stand a couple of years ago, based on the coloured etch and different textured films.
I was sent this image by email from someone at WmSmiths who saw this post and my comment.

This is the one i was trying to describe…
