  • Errors plotting to Gerber GS15 plus

I only occasionally use my gerber edge setup. Switched from using the advantage software to flexi 7.0 because of a bug in my advantage software. However using flexi, when contour cutting to Gerber GS15 plus, it cuts erratically. Sometimes completes half a metre then cuts in odd places. Other times after 30 seconds cutting, I get flashing lights and beeping on the plotter. Any help would be appreciated particularly if anyone is using this, admittedly old, setup

have not a clue about your set up but does sound like a cable, handshaking data problem, presume if you send it a small straight line job it completes it correctly.

Thanks Chris. Yes, the first few lines and curves are fine then the lunacy. I wonder if anyone has a similar setup and could check port settings.

You probably need to oil it, have you done this at all?

If not you need to use 3in1 oil the main bars, take off the cover on top of the knife you should see an area to drop some 3in1 into ontop of the top shaft I think, it looks a bit like a coupling. It would be worth checking the theta belt as well at that stage, any deterioation I would change it. I reckon it’s just oil though.

Great, don’t use too much though. I tend to put some on a rag. There is a step by step guide of how change a theta belt on the plotter doctor website if needed.
