    Anyone running one of these?

Was thinking HP Latex as our next printer but, looking at these Epsons they have some advantages, no dual phase power, nicer print quality, easier media loading, low maintenance and the inks still dry fairly quick (6 hours) compared to older solvent printers..

Don’t know about Epson, we have a waterbased Epson.

But 6hrs??? Might be touch dry, but probably still outgassing some of the solvent.

Our OKI comes off the machine touch dry, but still outgassing the solvent.

No, they claim 6 hours for outgassing with the GS3 inks

Yes Epsom claim that in the USA they advise 4-6 hours outgassing! It’s different here in the uk at present but is soon expected to be the advice they give! Not sure why it differs! I’ve said many times that I’m keen to hear feedback on this machine, was also looking to upgrade our HP to the latest machine, but seriously impressed by the Epsom! I just need to hear a bit more positive feedback to be pushed in that direction

    Hi Guys,

I have just purchased an Epson 80600, just posted a bit of info regarding this machine. If you have any questions then please ask however in short the Epson 80600 is amazing! drying time is a quick as they say!. im still testing a few different types of media but so far everything has been spot on to what i saw at the Demo and heard before i purchased.

If anyone wants to see any print samples or anything id be more than happy to help. :smiles:

Hope this helps, nearly was swayed by latex for the great mutoh trade in price i got but when i had both the same image that i requested from HP and Epson it was clear what route to go down.

    Thanks Neil D.

I’m just not convinced by the 6hr out gassing, I suspect it is much the same as car manufacturers and their MPG figures. In a controlled environment, that suites their objective… I am happy to be proven wrong.

6hr or 24hr wouldn’t make much difference to us. We work 8-4, if I print something at 10am, I’m going home at 4, and it won’t get laminated until 8am the following day at the earliest.

A sensible move I would say, I find if I have to print & fit straight away, I’ve forgotten a job which means the system hasn’t been followed properly. I recall the early days of my versacamm, literature stated ‘up to 3 years outdoor life without lamination’
Soon found that to be a slight exaggeration.
