Cyan seems to be the most common colour to clog with dye sub setups…do a head clean and nozzle check.

Prices are fixed by the patent holder Sawgrass for small format sublimation ink……..so all are very similar.

I changed to ink and bulk delivery system from http://www.continuousink.com when my D88 went down I think they source the ink for you. Talk to John he is a wealth of knowledge and will help you out.

Epson are notorious for heads clogging if left for a while without use with sub inks. They were never designed for sub ink which has totally different properties to genuine Epson Inks. My Epson sub printer went through so many cleaning cycles it locked out with an error after 6 months. Luckily, I have done loads of work at Epson in the UK and Japan and got it sorted for free, but warranty will be void using sub ink (unless you change back to Epson ink when returning it! :lol1: )

I also found that 12 months from a D88 running dye sub ink is really all you can expect. They are cheap enough to be disposable really 😀

Tracey – on another sublimation forum there’s a good post from Martin of Printer Owners about issues with continuous ink on a 285 which might help you. When you find the forum look for the username mbroad.

I had exactly the same issues with my D88 some months ago and there’s a long thread started by me on that forum which could also give you some pointers. Absolutely no support from the supplier and despite all the good advice I was given on that forum I couldn’t get it sorted. In the end I got a 1400 instead and haven’t looked back since.
