    Hello everybody!!

Can anyone help me with this problem!

When i import a CutContour via EPS from Illustrator cs4 it converts the original line(CutContour) to a double line (probably the original line thickness) this makes the Cut job very messy and not wanted of course.

For printing reasons the document needs to be in EPS however when i sent the same file in AI the CutContour works just fine.

Has anyone met this problem before and knows how to solve it?

    thanks,

    Chris

    Hello Chris,
The most likely cause is that the stroke has been outlined which would give two cutting paths, these lines can appear darker and easily remedied by deleting one of them.

    I hope this helps

It would be a good idea to introduce yourself in the ‘Say Hello’ section.

    hi jeremy,

Thanx for your quick reply! I am new to forums in general, i didn’t know there was a say hello section. i’ll post something there soon.

In these document are quite a few different contour paths about 36 and i need to "ungroup" to get access to these paths which means i have to delete all of them separately.

Do you know of a way that they are right the first time round like the AI file does?

Now I sent 1 print & cut job in EPS for printing and the same job in AI for cutting, which i believe is a bit of overkill 😛 Also when importing an EPS, the CutContour is in a mask and i need to take i out of the mask before sending it to PM otherwise it won’t recognize the cut paths at all.

Should i save my EPS in a different way to prevent these things from happening?

    Thanks again,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,
Without seeing the artwork it is difficult to comment, I like to keep things simple by converting the artwork to a jpeg, opening it in Illustrator and then adding the cut line.
