• Epilog laser 1.5" lens

This might be a daft question but I’ve just purchased the 1.5" high resolution lens and require a focus jig for it. Is it as simple as copying/ making one from the standard 2" lens focus tool with 1/2" less off it?
The standard 2" focus tool has never been knocked and adjusted and seems OK when using it to focus the standard 2" lens.
I also don’t use and never have done the auto focus tool/ plunger and actually took it off to give me more clearance.
Have i answered my own question (?) (?)

    Cheers,
    Al.

You actually have to test the focus , do NOT rely on the fact that its a 1/2" less than a 2". The range of where it is in focus is VERY small with a 1.5 lens , maybe 2-3mm , so getting it spot on is vital.
Use the 1/2" difference as a starting point and vary the focus around it , wherever its sharpest is the correct distance

    Thanks for the advice Rodney,
I’ve actually done what you said, made a new 1.5" lens focus tool with 1/2" less than the 2" tool and found like you said that it isn’t quite right and still required fine tuning to get perfect results.
It was the difference of around 1.5mm after that to get it perfect. I didn’t expect to get text so small with it and I’m still amazed by how small detail you can do engrave using the 1.5" lens.

    Thanks,
    Al.
