Engineer changed maintenance unit and print head is misfiring
Hi all. Well what a day im having.
So  ive had my secondhand mutoh 1614 just under a year now. So far so good only issue really is when left for a day or 2 without printing 2 black nozzles get blocked but with a clean they come back. So today i had the "yearly" maintenance unit changed, capping station and dampers by a mutoh engineer. Once its all done he is doing test prints and nozzle checks, and basically the lines are not matching up anymore on the black, misfiring. more cleans and tests and no change. Tbh its hardly noticeable on a print but still the quality is not as good as before he touched it. So im obv saying wtf? and he tells me that this can happen with older machines, maybe because of the vacuum when changing dampers etc its sucked through some dry ink etc etc.
So im 800 euros lighter and should be feeling happy that im looking after my baby. Where actually i feel i should have left it alone and done nothing and if i get 3 or 4 years out of it before the head dies then im winning.
Any owners had this experience?
Im obviously hoping it plods on and gets better with time as a new head is worth more than the printer :yikes:
