• Embroidery software

Posted by Dave Bruce on December 1, 2004 at 11:05 pm

Just bought a Melco machine for embroidery, comes with simple software for manually digitising logos. I was wondering if anyone has some software that would convert my cdl/ai/eps whatever files for the Melco to read direct.

    Cheers

Thanks Becky you are a star. Do you use this software yourself?

I can’t believe I didn’t check Ebay for it since I almost live there!

    Dave.
    No we don`t use “drawings”.

“Drawings” will get you started, but you will need help else where.

With embroidery, what you see, isn`t what you get.

images need to “tweeked” to get them to stitch out right.
eg. a circle would be created in the embroidery software to look like an oval, then when it stiches out, as the thread expands the material the oval become a circle.

Its too complex to explain simple. A true digitiser takes years to get it right.

But a program like drawings will get you started quickly.

    Hi Dave
This is something I can do for you if you think if might help.

I bought Drawings from America, I work there part of the year. I love it as an automatic digitizer, but sometimes it can require tweaking, I still prefer my manual digitizing programmes…….. I know I’m just kinda stuck in my ways!!!

Send me a couple of files and I’ll convert them to let you see if its the quality you need
