    Ditto….

seriously though, Edinburgh is a lovely City, really enjoy going there to shop or for the day out. food, drink, shops all over the place… you will not be stuck. Thats just bang in the City Centre though, not familure with the outskirts… I don’t go to Edinburgh often, its just so big and wide spread "when walking" after a few beers… 😉

for more upmarket Shops, bars, restaurants, hotels etc… Princess street is a safe bet, and the streets running parallel right behind it.

you will get the exact same but smaller more traditional styled bars, restaurants, shops up next to the castle on the Royal Mile cobbled streets…

word of warning, Parking… use the multi-storey car parks, the wardens are like vultures with PMS. 😉

Ditto – Glasgow is the place to be.

I always thought I was biased as I was based near there, but on my trips to Edinburgh, I wasn’t overly impressed.

Maybe I missed 1/2 of the city, but didn’t really think it was that great- Maybe as Rob says it’s spread out and I was either to bladdered, or lazy to explore further afield.

Glasgow, excellent night life, loads of shops, bars, cafe’s, and generally a much nice atmosphere.

    Thanks Rob 😀

The rest of you as much use as a chocolate teapot :lol1:

The question wasn’t "where do you think I ought to go in Scotland" mainly because we are meeting up with people there, still at least you replied 😮

    John 😀

Me n Karen are going in October for a couple of days, staying in a hotel next to the zoo so taxis into the city will be required but were not paying for the room so beggers can’t be fussy!

Not got anything planned for it yet apart from getting drunk most nights as we won’t have to deal with the kids lol

Not wrong there Rob…they got me just 4 mins over time 🙄

Its prob a bit far out for you as its near to the airport but if the Edinburgh Dakota’s anything like the Glasgow one then its a treat to stay in. Great for a special occasion.

Friends recently stayed at Le Monde Boutique Hotel on George street and enjoyed it…….laterooms.com or lastminute.com have never let me down yet when wanting a good deal.

Its a beautiful city but leave the car parked up as driving is a nightmare due to the tram roadworks.

    Enjoy

Yer I know it, did a bit of work there once but that was about 7 or 8 years ago, did some stuff for the club not any of the gliders.

You are probably closer to Brian Little there than me, he is on Kinross side of Perth where as I am in Inverkeithing which you passed when you crossed the bridge heading up the motorway.
