• Edge Flood Coats.

Can anybody help? I’m printing some stickers for car windows in reverse, and trying to get a flood coat on the back of the letters only. (The customers wants the rest of the sticker to remain clear, but have a backing on the lettering so the Red doesn’t look pink.)

I’ve read the mauals, which were so helpful they are now been used as coasters and doorstops.
I’ve tried the shape coat in the print options with and without applying it to Clear Strokes/Fills. But for some reason the backing white always seems to offset itself from the lettering slightly.

    Any ideas or workarounds?
    Regards

    Marty

That’s probably due to the poor registration of some thermal printers.

Try reducing the white part (inlining it) slightly to allow for mis registration. OR With the edge2 I used to find using the primer option a bit more accurate for some reason, rather than using a separate layer.

Cheers mate. My ‘apprentice’ just thought of the inline option whilst I was out having a fag. I’ll give them both a bash and see which gives me the best results

Put your letter colours in as a spectratone colour, ie blue over white, then in gspplot goto 123 and select shrink base and change it to .1 or .2mm this should sort the registration probs.
