    Hi,
As in my previous post, I bought Vs540i with Marabu DI-SX inks loaded. I just found that they now approx 24 months old from prod date and shelf life is 18… I got 2xCMYK set up.
2xM and 2xC are over 60% ink in machine (+2xC new spare ones), K have 20% but have already 2x new (also expired), Y is about 20% (no spare) so need decide now quick and buy at least 2xY …
My first question is about expiry date on cartridges, what can happen if I keep using them and is it really not recommended to do?
And, like everyone I don’t like throw away money to trash, am I should:
    1) Don’t care about those inks, throw away 4x new cartridges + 4x over 60%… And if so should I flush system and load with EcoSolMax3 new set or stay with Max2? Can anyone who switched to Max3 can tell pros and cons? Any problems with profiles?
    2) Don’t care about expiry date, carry on using those inks and switch to EcoSolMax2 when these finish…
    3) Switch to EcoSolMax2 right now without flush system..
    Thanks

    Ok,
decide go with Max 3 conversion, before order it i call roland support to ask is the same procedure for 3rd party inks (max2 compatible) as genuine max2.
I told them thatI need to switch back from 3rd party inks – MaraJet DI-SX – to EcoSol max2 or max3, and one of engineer told me that is not recommended to switch back to genuine inks without roland engineer to have a look as maybe all wet parts need to be exchanged and best will be to keep using inks that are already loaded, as due to different chemicals used it may cause serious problems… That isnt what I want to hear, I hope to use standard switch procedure to eco sol max3, but i heared that at least full flush and head flush needs to be done with possible captop, wipers and dampers replacement needed if I want to switch to Max3… What about if I want switch back to max2? On Marabu website they said it’s compatible inks with max2 and don’t require even flush…

What should I do? I don care much about wasting 3rd party inks, even when there still is 60% ink in them, I just want safely back to original inks…
I’m located close to birmingham, do you know any independent roland engineer who can have a look my mashine? I’m not rich enough yet to take call out directly from roland…
