  • Eco Sol vs Pigment Ink and media for Poster Prints?

    Hi All

Had an interesting discussion with somebody the other day regarding this topic. They were told to keep using their pigment printer for poster prints as it was cheaper and everything else on their new Roland Eco Sol Max ink printer.

This confused me as the media and ink is cheaper on the Roland, 330ml pigment ink on my printer is £118 each but the Roland is about £75 for 440ml.

Does anybody run both these type of machines who know any better? The only possible reasons I could think of for the pigment printer being cheaper is offsetting the costs against the cost of the printer (as pigment printers are much cheaper) or a pigment printer puts down a lot less ink than a solvent printer?

    What are your thoughts?

    cheers

    Warren
