    Hi all

I’ve a client who wants to purchase 300 x roll up banner stands. Problem is they only want eco-friendly materials. This is to run on HP5500’s dye based inks. They have come back to me with ‘Priplack’??? (A) What the F@£$ is it? (B) Where does it come from?

    Thanks All

It’s a polypropylene type of material
Usually used for binder cover/separators its got a pattern/embossed feel to it
    try Robert Horne group
forgot to say i doubt if it will digital print!
I know of it from screenprinting days

Kev as has been said its polypropylene and it is very difficult to get anything to stick to it, also totally unsuitable for roll-ups as its a semi rigid material, i.e. like credit card thickness.

Does anyone know of such a product that is eco-friendly that can be used for roll up banner stands?

    Thanks

    Kev,
How is the client defining eco friendly,
In the manufacture or the recycling properties or both?
Just wondered, and what about the cassettes? Do they need to be eco friendly?

I would tell him you’ll be using a synthetic substrate made from petrochemicals. Hence you will have done your bit by diverting some of the worlds oil resources away from being used as fuel (which would otherwise have been burned) Thus helping to reduce carbon emissions and doing you’re bit to save the planet.

Bish bosh – jobs a good un 😕

    Hi,

We use an unwooven polyester material if a customer is ever looking an eco option. This is also good for biodegradable banners!

    hope this helps

I saw a program on Discovery Channel here (I think it was that one) about a company that prints using corn based inks. Here is a link to a few articles about the subject.

The guys that were using this ink said it smells like popcorn! Now that’s a reason to go to work every day. 😀
