Hi all. . I bought Easysign v 5 about three years ago (1000 squid) from a company in Dublin which is now stopped selling that software. .So apparently no support is available. I’ve had plenty of issues with it & sorry I ever changed from my previous software. .Anyway, I’m running it on a Windows Vista Bis & there’s still all sorts of issues . .it won’t plot being the major one, so I ring Easysign In the Netherlands & they tell me to e-mail them with my problems & they’ll get back to me. .months go by with no reply so I ring them again & they tell me to download the latest service pack, which I promptly do but this won’t install either.
The Message. .’ EasySIGNV5.exe is not a valid Win32 application’ comes up

They don’t have a proper forum where one can ask questions on their webshite just some handpicked FAQ’s.
    Advice anyone?
    Andy.

I dont have the program, but at least I can advise what what that message normally is.
That message basically means the computer cant work out what to do with what you downloaded, mainly caused by corruption on the download, I would suggest you try and download again.

I’ve tried downloading umpteen different ways at this stage Dave, even downloaded it onto my laptop, saved it to a USB stick, unblocked in its properties tab. then tried installing it onto my work computer. nothing seems to work. Could it be a registry fault of some description?

I suspect you may have to use an older operating system to get it to work properly (Windows Xp or even Windows 98?).

However, you can install "virtual PC" within a vista operating system that then allows you to install and run an older operating system within Vista.

Cheers Phill, you might be on to something there. . .I’m just downloading that file now, so I’ll get back on later & let you know how I got on.

    Thanks Again.

I have it installed on a Vista machine that then has windows 98 installed to allow me to run some old software. It works just as it did on an older machine but there are issues if you have to drive a plotter because you may have difficulty communicating through USB ports using software that only recognises parallel and LPT1 ports.

I think Victory Design are Easysign agents, they may be able to assist.

I bought my easy sign from victory design, I needed a code to make it work victory wanted £15 to get it for me I emailed easy sign and they emailed it over.

I run it on xp pro 32bit with no problems. I would say get rid of vista and use xp.

Hi Luke, Have you bothered trying to download & install any of the EasySIGN service patch’s?

    Do they work on XP?

Yeah I down loaded some up dates, works the same as before. The computer I had it on was never on the internet so after about 3 years of not being conected it downloaded lots of stuff, but I try to not down load updates. I like to work with xp I have a new computer that has vista 64bit on it, probably going to put win 7 pro on that before I start using it.

Ha Ha Yeh . . I did the same. . Tryed to keep me new work computer internet & virus free. . Held out for about 3 years before I had to see what it could do on the net . . was’nt disappointed either.

But this whole wonder patch thing from ES is still bugging the hell out of me. .Sounds like my holy grail if it would work. .the "virtual PC" thing did’nt work & I’ve got to get this sorted very soon. 😥

i have easy sign running my roland plotter. i got it from victory and the’ve always been real helpfull when i’ve had the odd problem. i run it on windows xp, and as its fairly old i wouldn’t put it on vista as i would imagine it would have problems running it. never downloaded any patches or updates for it either.

Just a quick one as I am on my phone and it is not as handy to surf with!

I had similar problems with autocad 2005 on vista I ended up disabling uac(user account control) and seleting something in the properies of the icon for autocad. It might be similas to the virtual machine thing but if u are having problems ill get onto my pc and look up what I done.

To be honest getting rid of vista would probably solve all ur problems!

Well! wonder of wonders! . .I went on to Victory designs website & downloaded the service-pack/update from there & it only feckin worked 😀
The program is running better than ever & plotting effortlessly. .+ it doesn’t freeze or crash anymore. .Even the Coreldraw integrated VBA commands are working.

Thanks for leading me there Luke. :wave3:
