I agree Becky. These scammers should be caught and treated like the common criminals they are.

Personally, I stopped buying through ebay years ago.

In australia, our police force even has a division that monitors ebay in australia for obvious crimes. Sadly, they are inundated with claims every week of being ripped off.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention too. I’ll mention this link in my next newsletter.

    Cheers

    while some items are genuine.

if you listen to that little voice in your head( oh the voices won`t stop) that says its too good to be true, it usally is.

I spotted an embroidery machine, “brand new” for £1400, they actually cost £7K, so you automatically suspect somethings wrong.

    Lets start an ebay police………………..

The sad thing is that the scammers make it difficult for the genuine sellers to sell their goods. Understandably Ebayers will ask an extraordinary amount of questions relating to the item being sold and depending on the sellers answer depends on how much they trust will trust them.

Maybe ebay should insist on some sort of scheme that forces sellers to verify thier contact details if the item they are selling goes over £500. It won’t stop the scammers upto £500, but it would stop ppl getting ripped off for a grand or more.

    Cheers, Dewi

    (!) NICE ONE BECKY (!)
I have been emailing bidders where possible when I have Seen These Sort of items For Auction.
I still use ebay but am very careful and always contact the seller before any payments are made, if I have the slightest doubt about them then I pull out.
Genuine ones wont hesitate to contact you by phone to arrange payment on collection.
