  • Drywipe Magnetic Boards – Layer under vinyl to make magnetic

Posted by Unknown Member on January 15, 2018 at 9:15 am

    Hi Guys

Wondering if someone can help with this

I need to do a quote for a client for a number of custom drywipe boards with various visual bits printed on them

I’m almost certain I have seen a material as a show that can be applied to the ACM board and then covered with vinyl to make the board magnetic

We were going to use steel backing but this would make some of the larger boards really heavy

    Any ideas guys?

As long as it can hold magnetics I guess right thanks Martin….Always worth posting these types of questions, as you have just proved there is a wealth of knowledge here.

Let me know when your down next…We due a catch up mate…Been a while

We’ve a roll of adhesive ferrous magnetic sheet here. I think it came from Pyramid.

Used exactly how you’re needing it, and I’m sure it’s printable although we already printed the vinyl to mounted that to it.

Ferrous vinyl doesn’t have the magnetic grab of the steel sheet used for blank drywipe boards. Best to buy in a framed blank drywipe board and add the printed vinyl graphic with drywipe laminate over the top and cut it back to the frame. Gives a much nicer end product.

Yes we’ve bought in standard framed whiteboards from http://www.adboards.com and covered in digital print in the past. Gives a better finish than just flat panels.

Bisbell magnetic do a whole range of magnetic products, as well as vehicle grade magnetic I use to use their self adhesive ferro sheeting for custom dry wipe boards, use to do quite a few for Haulage Companies, not used them for a long time now as not really doing much work.

I produced a number of magnetic faced ACM boards a couple of years ago using a ferrous material from Anchor Magnets (www.anchormagnets.com). I found them to be very helpful, they laminated 20 metres of relective vinyl onto some normal magnetic sheet for me at the same time, for a charge of course, awkward job with my steel made laminater.

They have a good catalogue of products which I used many times.
