Anyone used the above, any experiences, good or bad.

I have done 30 windows recently with Oracal 8510, all averaging 620 x 1100 or so and had some issues with some bubbles and small white marks on the vinyl, all done dry, centre hinged. I just feel the adhesive is very aggressive and leaves no room for error.

Have another 90 or so to do and was looking at the dry apply stuff, any opinions,

    Thanks

I used some dry apply from Spandex over a year ago. I applied app tape and placed on windows with squeegee as normal. Removed app tape and all looked good. Went outside and you could see every squeegee mark.

Client was horrified so was I. Replaced with normal and wet applied and looked great.

Be interesting to see if others have had the same experience.

I tried a quick test at the sign & digital show and didn’t find it any easier to apply and as Chris said the white marks were still there.

Was it 8510 or 8510 Rapid Air , am thinking if the Rapid Air would help you. Not much difference in price.

Don’t squeegee marks disappear after a few days

ended up having to strip a couple of windows and redo them. Done them wet, came out fine.

Standard 8510 Cameron, didn’t know Oracal done a rapid air version.

We’ve used The mactac airflow frosted glass on some large jobs and the APA version both great. The results were spot on and fast and easy to apply. I’d personally never go back to wet applying frosted again.

    Hi Bob,

Ask the office for a sample metre to test out.

    Cheers
