    Hi,

For a bit of daft I agreed to do a mates Bass Drum Reso head, it actually came out a lot better than I thought 😀

Thinking of re – doing it with reflective though..

It takes some punding the the vinyl has stuck fine, no issues at all. The Vinyl is MACTAC.

    excuss the dodgy shoes :lol1:

I dont know much about drums, they used to call the covers skins, cos thats what they were made from. I remember them being classified from the small drum upwards, i.e. 1 skin….2 skin…..3 skin &

    bass

But joking apart, looks a good job garrie,
I presume you applied to the outside?
Did it affect the sound in anyway?

Peter – Thanks for the reply.

Yeah vinyl was applied to outside of head. The head is 22" and made from Mylar.

The Vinyl has a slight dampening effect, however this is a good thing for the reso head, no need for internal dampening via a small peice of felt.

    Cheers

If vinyl dampened the sound, Reflective will make the drum go "poof-poof" in stead of "BOOM-BOOM" Just check the weight diff between the two! Your mate’s neighbours will knight you, though!

Uhm, that should read "Puff, Puff" pronounced with an "o" not "u" i.s.o. (oh i swore! oh i swore!) Is Puff, pronounced with an "o" a swearword in the UK? Blimey! You must have a real Goody Two Shoes, Mad Cow Infected Cuss Word Checker on this site. My mom will love it!

Remember this is a RESO head, not the BATTER head 🙄
