Drew – Canberra Centre Bus Wrap
Posted by Shane Drew on August 29, 2011 at 1:11 pmHere is another wrap done last week. 15 hours driving to the job (1200klm’s), 4 days fitting, and 15 hours back home.
3M material on the bus, ‘legal’ one way vision on the windows.
All done dry.
Design was by a graphic artist who had never designed a wrap before. A few minor mistakes, mainly with the layout, but we managed to correct those on the fly.
Client was well pleased, and have already nominated us to wrap another 2 buses next year.

Top Notch work again Shane, well done my friend.
The layout is very good, very effective.
I hope you get to have a lay in at the weekends 😉

Great job Shane………you’re getting pretty good at those bus wraps and driving long distances 😀

I like the layout too and I’m usually pretty picky.
Glad to see you are getting so much work, Shane!
Love….Jill -
Nice work as always Shane but 4 days to wrap ?? The number of buses you’ve done now I would have thought you would have got it down to a couple of hours by now :lol1: :lol1:
with a bit of luck your boy will be driving by the time you get to wrap the next 2 for them which will help with the travelling.

He probably took a few days out for R&R in the middle Martin 😉

Thanks friends…. I seem to have found niche market, purely by accident. All I seem to do is Trucks and Buses now.
Mo, I use the horizontal panels to hide the long joins in the panel joins. I lay horizontal, not vertical as a result. On this 12m long bus, we did each panel 3m long x the height of the panel, so the windows were 4 @ 1100mm high x 3m, the panel under was 4 @ 900mm x 3m, the roof was 4 @ 300mm x 3m (combined on the one print) and the bin doors were 4 @ 1250mm x 3m panels.
No time to rest when I got back sadly. While I was away, I won tenders for 250 temporary signs, 3 commercial vehicles, and 200 small dibond signs for a factory. I’ve got more buses for signage in September.
Martin, my son doesn’t get his license till May next year, but I am really looking forward to that as just having another driver doing the long trips will take the load off me so at least I can rest.
We have just had a spate of big sign shops go under here in the last few months, as well as our local mactac distributor, so there are a few worried sign shops at the moment. Some report no work, others like myself are doing OK, but I’m not taking anything for granted at the moment.
Thanks again for your comments friends, I appreciate it coming from my peers.

Looks nice Shane, not sure we have any were in this country that would take 15 hours to get too. Other than using the M25 that is 😉
