I print double sided banners quite often on our versacamm. When we bought the machine we asked about this is didn’t get much response from sales guys except that they seen no reason why not. Anyway, I do it and it works a treat, not an exact science and bleed is definitely needed, but if people are interested and don’t know how to go about it I would happily put together a tutorial for it, what do you think? Just want to offer to give something back as I get so much good info from the site.

    Thanks for any responses.

yes, have done this on JV3. Don’t do it much these days. Biggest problem is wet ink

Sound guys, I’ll put something together over the next couple of weeks.

Wet ink is a big issue Dave, leaving the banners as long as possible helps, motor errors near the end of your banner is not good! Alignment is a pain in the ass and the biggest problem but I have this sussed and will try and explain it as best I can.

yep you got it in one.
JV3 tracking is pretty damn good, doesn’t wonder sideways much at all if everything is truely spirt levelled up. Wet ink and a big desk fan helps, but once on that roll sticks to the reverse side of the banner which can effect printing of the second side a bit.

Solid colours are a pain, keeping them even while printing the second side… and starting the second side, measurement alignments or markers stuck to the machine. Oh and printing the first side with central alignment then using left alignment with a ruler for second side and restarting until you get it right (assuming you have a box at start to help you align and pin prick thru material to find the central point of the print)

    yeah its fun
