    Hi folks

I am to produce a two panel ‘reverse’perspex fascia using clear acrylic
27ins deep 16ft long in the past i have jioned in the centre with a routed half lap
but each time i do it ,though successful its a gamble to cut right
plus once cut i have to polish this join before painting so as not to get a
    colour difference
i am considering when the sign is lettered and sealed to stick a 3ins piece of scrap to the back of one panel to bridge the join and keep the panels parallel

the sign will hang in a frame

any veiws ..its such a pain routing

    Terry

Hi Terry. I have just done this with alupanel to keep the join together.
One edge has a piece protruding off the edge by 10mm.
The other panel has 2 pieces to form a slot.
The first piece is set back from the edge by 12mm (to allow the 10mm offset to slide in without touching), then another piece is glued on top of the second one flush with the panel edge.
This means the second panel edge now has a slot full height (less any frame allowance) for the first panel to slot in to.
