lol seen this before, but… man am i happy to see someone call it by its proper name ! ‘duct’ tape for some reason is called duck tape by most people, infact there’s even a cheapish brand of that name now, to my knowledge, and experience, the stuff i was using 14yrs ago, to wrap around joints on galvanised air-con and extraction ducting, was DUCT tape ! why on earth anyone would think you need any kind of tape for a duck, i dunno ! thank you shane !!

eye um shore ewe ar !!
funniest thing i heard of, with regards to the use of duct tape, was a story i was told by one of my fishing buddies recently, apparently his brother and 3 friends had gone out fishing at newhaven harbour, around the breakwater are alot of large dogbones (we call the large pile of massive concrete wave breakers that cos thats what they look like !), they were in a small 12ft fibreglass dinghy thing, as they went around the breakwater the guy steering clipped a submerged dogbone and holed the boat, the hole was apparently big enough to push a tenis ball thru, well by all accounts… this wasnt the first time he’d done this, and he knew just what to do, they clambered onto the dog bones, half pulled the boat out, one guy held it up, two bailed out water, and the owner dried off the area around the hole and covered it with an ample supply of duct tape both inside and out, and then much to everyone’s initial concern, they headed back out another 50yrs from the wall and fished for further 5 hours before returning, not a leak in sight !
cant find a pic of the dog bones, but here’s a pic of the breakwater got rather wet when fishing this particular day, only a force 6-7 gale blowing !!
