  • Does your supplier send you your offcuts

    Hello

I don’t know if am just being a traditional scot! But I ordered two 2440mm by 1220 foam boards at the end of last week. I needed them cut down to 2000mm by 1000mm so asked my supplier to do this to save time. But when they arrived today there were no offcuts. I could understand if it was a 100mm here or there. But thought these cut were quite large! Would you expect to be supplied with your offcuts?

    Thanks

    Martin

We use Amari and they always send our off cuts.
May be worth stating next time that you want them.

We recently started buying i think 8ft wide rolls of digital banner material from Grafityp. We need them cut down to 6ft wide logs, which they do in house and send out next day. as you can imagine, big heavy logs of media, now 2x 6ft and 2x 4ft, still they send us the off-cuts in the post. now they have its even better as we get to run lots of long narrow banners on the off cuts.

same with Amari on Acrylics, we get the off-cuts.

They normally do hence why I didn’t ask. But I Suppose now idays theres cut backs with most things. So with cut backs there no offcuts!

Always best practice to order to include off-cuts.

    eg.

    2@ 1220×1000 plus offcut

a few suppliers don’t send them unless requested. DunNo, maybe they stockpile them or it just saves on packaging!

I always ask for offcuts, I don’t know if I would get them if I didn’t. I use Antallis and generally please with service and products.

do you pay for the full-size sheet?

When we deal with Antallis, they wrap in card and sometimes add extra bits to protect the package, sometimes very useful sheets indeed.
