Another Virusy type thing I’m afraid!

I’m getting the following message about 20 times a day (and increasing).

The mail address is that of someone I mailed a week or so back. Any ideas?

I’ve blotted out the mail address for security reasons.

The original message was received at Wed, 7 Jan 2004 19:32:20 GMT
    from [80.71.6.120]

    In a word – No.

But couldn’t you try speaking to your isp see if they can stop it (if you have the sort of isp you can actually get hold of in any way that is 😕 )

or you could create a mail rule (if you use outlook(express)) to block that incomming address all the time.

    good luck….

my completely wild shot in the dark………….

What ever message you tried to send to the hotmail address couldn’t be delivered most likely because the persons mail box is full. You very helpful email provider just keeps on trying to deliver your mail – thinking they are doing you a favour!! each time they fail to deliver they let you know with an email.

Two options sit tight and hope the person empties something from their mail box so your mail can be delivered, or just block the return address.

That’s my thoughs – could be just made up in the land of fairies though 😆

There is a problem with the users email address – normally this is down to the fact that the address has been mis-spelt. If you keep getting these messages, it would normally mean that you are sending some kind of message to them -and the mail server is bouncing back to you.

What email client are you using ?

By e-mail client……..do you mean who am I with? I’m with Freeserve.

and I’ve looked at setting up a rule Nigel, but there doesn’t seem to be an option to stop mail getting through . I have added the address to my Junk senders list but this hasn’t stopped it?? Aaaaaaaaaargh!!

Lorraine, I’ve mailed the guy who’s address it is so will see if his inbox is full soon?

    Thanks all………..

    Martin,

Sorry, my suggestion was a tad misleading – if you run outlook(express) you have to set a new mail rule up for a specific address and then set it to put the messages straight in the deleted items folder rather than actually blocking the message at source.

    Good luck anyway !

Had this mail from my web hosts tonight.

Until now, all messages are scanned and given a score. If the score was
above 10, the message is deleted at the mail server. If the score is above
5 it is marked as spam.
Now, I have set the rule so that any mail sent to @warriorboxing.com that
has a score higher than 5 will be deleted.

It’s sorted out the problem I’ve had with SPAM mail (sorry Rob I can’t get you that Viagra you ordered now 😉 nor help with your other problem but tying a brick to it should help 😕 ) and will hopefully sort out the hotmail thing as well?
