to my knowledge it is just regular oki toners i have in my machine supplied by TMT.

the whole reason it works is due to the high polyester content in the toner, meaning it’ll transfer onto just about anything, without the need for the item being printed to be polyester coated.

    phone TMT (magic touch)

don’t think it is the standard toner, TMT uses a film to print to shirts etc. These toners don’t, the idea originally started with black toner for trophy plates etc. However i do stand to be corrected

    Hi,

How is the oki I’m looking at getting one in the next few weeks had a look at the Bristol show over the weekend and seems fine.

Does the print feel like an inkjet transfer ie thick and heavy or is it more like a di sub print in the feel as i dont want the injet feel as ist a bit yuck.

    Thanks

don’t really use mind for shirts, although i have printed 1 offs for the kids etc and tried using it for promo shirts for the local radio station problem was they didn’t last for more than 2 days. When they stretch they crack i was using film from LG graphics so different film may be better.

    Hello There,
I bought an OKI c5800 from TMT but before I did I got the local rep to come and show me some samples. He brought with him a sample print (he did not bring the printer to heavy) and applied it to one of my work shirts, I was very impressed wow 7.1 dark garment. It has been washed at least 20 times since and it still looks as good as it did then. It was a picture of a race car but done like cross hatch sketch it hasn’t cracked but that could be because of the cross hatch I have not used it much since buying it as I will need to get a new heat press, all in all I was very Impressed

Hi Kev, not sure but i assumed it was, here’s the oki Part No for the new black toner i just got from TMT… p/n 43324408, have a look and see if it’s the same, i’m sure it’s std tone.

as for LG, i don’t like their vinyls (ok for big stuff but orrible for small) and have no intention of trying their garment stuff either!

Ian, you will get a thickish feel to the print, but after i peel the transfer paper off i always cover and press again for a few seconds.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the info.

Could you tell me when you print onto mugs is the print matt or gloss finish as the one mug they had at the show was mat.

Also when printing onto coasters mouse mates etc are the prints gloss or matt.

I will call magic later on to have a chat before the purchase.

For every one info the Oki £50 cash back offer is on until December.

Anyone using this printer what are you mostly using it for?

    Thanks

We use a Panasonic KX-P8415 with standard toners for subbing. It work fine on mugs and shirts BUT, have you seen subbed products from Novachrome?

There’s no comparison, Novachrome’s system leaves laser printer subbing in the dark.

    Hi,

Yes seen the nova and all the other ink based stuff. The reason I am going for the Laser is that my R1800 clogged up for a pass time great prints when working but used more ink cleaning the dam thing than I used to print. In the end the printer went out the window.

At lease the laser will not clog and I suppose I could get a d88 or some thing for the mugs. Don’t mind throwing them away not as much to loose as a stupid stupid R1800.

    Thanks for the information.
