  • Does signlab automatically save a temporary file?

Posted by Dave Bruce on March 16, 2007 at 2:34 pm

Ok came in this morning to find Windows had updated, shut down and closed all my programs (hot) I had a Signlab file open that I had been working on and not assigned a name to as yet, what are the chances of finding this file? Does signlab/windows automatically safe to some temporary file when it updates?

    Lesson learnt I think 🙁

And yes I normally have windows update turned off, but new computer and I obviously forgot.

Just a thought, I think it’s gone for good but have you done a search on Temp for all temp folders and looked in each one?

Signlab does autosave but it needs to be activated in the settings
I have recovered lost files by searching for recent temp files though, as andrew has said.

    Good luck!

    1. Under the Options menu, choose Automatic Save.
    2. Tick both the Automatic save enabled and Automatic load enabled checkboxes.
    3. If SignLab is shut down unexpectedly (i.e., Windows doing unscheduled reset), then the work will be recovered the next time that SignLab is launched (even if the file hadn’t been saved via File >> Save).
