Does e6 only come with a USB dongle? I thought it did, but there is an allegedly genuine copy (6.1) up for grabs on eBay pictured with a serial (old style) dongle. Hmmmmm. Might flag it up to Dave B. at cadlink if my suspicions are correct….if it’s genuine – grab yourself a bargain 🙂 if it’s one of you guys selling off an old copy…are you going to ‘fess-up to disowning the best program on the markets!!

Dave I think usb dongles only come with the new version if you buy the package outright, if you upgrade from previous copy then you keep your old dongle, I did and had to buy a new usb dongle from cadling

I know that was the case with ver. 4.x & 5.x, (old style) but thought 6 (&7) was a different kettle of fish & not traditionally upgradable as available modules are linked to your specific dongle and not using the software ‘install modules’ type-in codes.

The seller sold an identical package a few weeks ago. Exacty same picture (except dongle turned over).

    Hi

We use Signlab e6 with a serial dongle and yes it is genuine software and not a copy

Ask the seller for the serial number of the dongle, you can then check with Cadlink to make sure it’s genuine.

I stand corrected on the serial dongle – I just think it’s weird that seller is punting two identical setups a week apart. (Often piratesque shenanigans) Good suggestion Brian H – I’ve sent a question, will be interesting reply.

If it is genuine, the last one went for just under £500 so possibly a good deal.

I upgraded to 7.1 and kept my old dongle but that is parallel not Serial.

Not really fussed myself as I’ve got v7. But somebody may be in the market for e6. (went for £490 last week)

Dave it depends which modules come with it, but £490 dosnt sound cheap if its just the basic cuttin prog, a cross grade would be better value for say just cutting. and you would be getting the latest version

Naw, it had pretty much everything except the gerber print modules, so was OK value.

Did you get the dongle number & check it with Cadlink David?

I would be wary myself, especially as he has had the same listing already.

If you read the ad, it looks like a relisting, he mentions it at the end, somthing about a paypal issue, and apologising to previous bidders.

Why has he taken a pic from the other side of the dongle though? surely he would have used the same pics.

If I was buying it I would make sure I had the dongle number & I had checked it out. Just because he says it’s legit doesn’t mean it is 🙂

I would insist on collecting & paying once I knew everything was ok too 😎

I fully agree brian, So I invited the seller to look at this post. He may well be genuine, so he may like to comment outside ebay.
