  • does black forex fade and turn to grey?

Posted by David McDonald on July 20, 2005 at 1:12 pm

    Hi All

Have a Pantrim framed sign to install and customer wants a matt or satin black back board. I could either use black Forex, or perhaps flood coat some white with matt black vinyl.

Anyone know whether black Forex will weather well, or will it fade to grey in a few weeks/months? (i.e. as red Forex will become pink soon enough).

    Thanks
    Macky D

Thanks for that – I’ll go with the flood coat just to be sure.

Same as all Forexs quickly, fade that is, Fade To Grey our friends from Visage.

    Reynobond/Dibond is the answer

Regarding sticking acrylic letters to dibond we use permtac, you need an adhesive that has a bit of movement after setting, most two parts set hard which is no use for exterior acrylic as it expands quicker than Dibond in heat and teh letters will fall off
