    Morning

Attached is the worksheet that we use.

Every job that comes in is allocated a job number. This is entered manually in to a book showing: Number, Customer, Job and date.

When the job is completed, we highlight and add cost of the job. This way you can, at a glance, see what’s outstanding.

The same job number is allocated to the work file, be it CDR, PS etc,
This allows to carry out a quick search.

All paperwork eg. Purchase Order, drawings etc are stapled to the Work Sheet.

Current Work Sheets are filed in: In progress, On proof, Waiting & to Invoice.

It a system that works for us but still need to be disciplined to use it.

    Hope this helps.

    John

Attached is our job sheet. (only recently implemented)

These are NCR pads (hence the rubbish scan) each sheet is individually numbered.

I file a copy away in my filing cabinet, with copies of designs, purchase orders, samples of vinyl etc, and books I keep which is great when you get a similar job in and can quickly look up what you charged last time.

All customers have their index card in the box on my desk, each card has the customer name and phone number, and lists job no, date, and description.

All the files I create are put into A-Z Folders for each client, then each job no has its own folder.

I’ve had people come back for another t-shirt the same as last time, and couldn’t find the original file. Every job gets a number, job sheet, contact card, and folder…

The system is identical to how another printers runs theirs, and they swear by it. Makes life easier, especially for repeat orders, or when you need to locate a logo.
