    Hi All,

Does anyone know where I can get or what type of Laser engraver I need to engrave Stainless Steel. I know there are machines which you need to use an electrolyte either as a paste or tape. I really want a machine the marks stainless with out that sort of messing around.

    Thanks,

    Timmy

    Timmy,
First of all, what would be the usual size of stainless steel items you need to engrave and do you just need to mark it or deeply engrave it to give a 3D look?
If you just need to mark stainless steel and the usual size of your items fall in the category of within the range of 2’X4′.laser engraver or marker with a 200W with water cooled laser and a working area of 2×4" would suffice.GCC makes reliable equipment and far economical than its other competitors in this category.
For other applications such as 4’X8′ or bigger sizes a flatbed router/cutter is recommended or a Flatbed plasma cutter if you need to cut through thicker stainless sheets for lettering etc.
There are deep laser engravers cutters in the 500W category also available for smaller sizes of items which need to be deeply cut or engraved for manufacturing prototype parts etc.

    cheers

You need a galvo "YAG" laser to do this without marking paste , you can get em up to 200mm x 200mm marking field size. They are super fast and mark and cut lots of other stuff.
    GCC make a good one

    Hi Rodney and Usman,

Thanks for the Help, I basically want to engraver small stainless steel tags with numbers on them, and I don’t want the expense or hassle of having to use paste.
