  • does anyone know how to make realistic looking clouds?

Hi, Not REALLY sure if this is the appropriate place to post this, but hey:

I’ve been doing some art using photoshop, and I wondered if any of you arty people out there knew of any ways of making realistic clouds, this is what I have so far (yet to add more white tints to it),

I’m thinking maybe I should add some shadows on the parts facing away from the sun?,

As an artist, I would tell you to not try too hard.
When I paint clouds, I use a sea sponge, very loosely, and don’t over-do it.
Then I go over it with a clean dry brush to soften them down so they look wispy.
I know that this is no help in Photoshop!
While your “clouds” do look pretty cool, they are just the slightest bit muddy.
I think you need a bit more white in them where the light source would be.
Remember that they are merely water droplets floating in the atmosphere, almost transparent.
Think of how clouds look as you are flying thru them on an airplane.
    Just trying to help.
