Only way I know is to use signlab which allows you to create an array. Don’t know if the latest version of Corel has anything similar – try typing "array" into corels help?

I think there is a macro that will do it in Corel… enter Alan from wings…. :lol1:

I used to print off 2000 labels a time in ascending numbers for a construction companies induction stickers on their hats… did it this way in Corel.

Set up a display of stickers 10 x 10 using move and duplicate tool (use whole numbers in mm or inches so you remember easy).

Centralised numbers 00-99 on this grid using same movement

Locked or put on an unalterable layer all this base stuff

Next just added ‘1’ at front of each number again duplicating across and down same as before.

Sounds complicated but only took less than a minute to get the new numbers up once arranged… as far as I can remember I got to silly figure like 86,000 before I sold the last business a while back…

Its actually called "badges" in signlab, but most rips have a similar function, The array function doesn’t change data, just creates evenly spaced copies

That’s very helpful Peter – so how can you do this in Corel which was what George was asking?

Not sure if this will help for wide format but i use this software on our laser printers for printing multiple up tickets etc. – I found this to be a little gem – comes with a 30 day trial so no worries if it isn’t quite what you’re looking for – If you decide to buy its £25 gbp – This software allows you to import your original artwork as a PDF. Specify your sheet size, how many labels across and how many down. – type in the coordinates of the number ie 3cm across x 1 cm down – enter the starting number and then the total amount of labels needed and hit the button…. – This then creates a PDF of the total number of pages (or perhaps single page if wide format) As long as you are able to print from a PDF file this should work.. –

Oh, and here’s the link to the software; http://www.numberingstar.com/Default.aspx

    Best of luck 😀

You can certainly do it in CorelDraw, its part of the print merge tool. Its basically a case of creating the original master document, loading the print merge tool. Tell it the numbers, place the "text field" in the document, choose fonts etc. Then use the imposition tool in the print menu to tell it you want "x" per page and print.

I can do a full demo if it helps?

Yes you can do it in Corel and as Andy says you use the print merge tool and is obviously free (follow wizard in X4) but the easiest way of producing the required txt file for tickets etc. is using numbergen. Do a Google search and you should come across it possibly free but I’m sure its available from http://www.macromonster.com at modest cost. If you go to the Unleash site from Google I think there may be a video which shows you how to use for invoice numbering and raffle tickets as well. You will be able to print (on your desktop printer) individually numbered raffle tickets – multi up and stacked correctly for cutting down.

My two penneth but I think the easiest way is just to do it in coreldraw, you dont need anything but the features that are built in. You can produce multiple copies per page, over however many pages, add crops, bleed and more. Corel will produce the serialised numbers too.

Andy you are right, I was just expanding the answer a little because users start of just numbering and then move on to something a little more elaborate. With Numbergen it is easy to produce the number file for inserting into Print merge for raffle tickets, multiup and stacked from the printer for cutting and still in order.
Just as a note but print to pdf or postscript and you have a file for repeat printing the job or just individual pages should there be any spoilt at print.
*Looks like Numbergen 1.1 is free at unleash*
Looked at Numberstar and you can do this in Corel

    Fair do’s 😉

I’ve come across numbergen before and it is useful if you want to have the pages/items in order once guillotined – I’ll agree with that

I’m just stubborn and will only use the minimal amount of software I need to do something.

George I’ve emailed the tutorial to Rob, just so he can post it in the correct forum etc. Hopefully it’ll be up pretty soon.

Sorry for the delay it took a little longer than I anticipated.
