Hi everyone. I don’t suppose anyone has a Graphtec Cutting Pro FC4100-130 ??

If anyone does, would you still have a copy of the manual ? If you have,
please could someone scan the page relating to replacing the cutting strip.
I’ve managed to get hold of a new one but i’m not entirely convinced I
have the right thing or how exactly it’s fixes to the plotter.

We acquired the plotter when taking over another sign company and they
haven’t got the manuals anymore. 🙄

is it not just a self adhesive nylon strip mate?

well that’s what they’ve sent, which if it’s correct my fears have been confirmed. 🙁

They apparently replaced a cutting strip a long while ago, but as they
didn’t get it on properly they pulled the strip off and just continued running
the plotter 😕 so unfortunately the plastic strip underneath is very badly
worn. This thick plastic strip is what i thought was the cutting mat.

No wonder it doesn’t cut that well !! :lol1:

I’ll have to contact Graphtec and see if I can buy that part too.

Hi Neil …… i’ll have a word with Graphtec today and see if I can buy that
part, and I might pop over and see about that manual. Hopefully it’ll be
    quite similar.

message ?? I can’t see any emails, but I have had problems with my
email recently. Could you send it through again. Cheers.

    Hi Adrian,

the manual is a pdf so I can send that to you, or I posted on this site about 6-12 months ago for someone else if you want to get it quicker that way.

I’ll re-send the e-mail about the drag car graphics

    cheers

    Neil

Adrian, there is nothing in the manual about the cutting strip really, just one small picture showing the whole machine from the front with a little arrow pointing and the words cutting mat. Can’t even see from the picture what it looks like !!!

Hi, the plastic strip for the 4100 is discontinued and you can use one for the 5100 but it has to be cut to size but it will have to be ordered from Japan and would take about 2 weeks to get here. Ring Graphtec and speak to Tech support.
Apparently 2 layers of masking tape and 2 layers of sellotape with provide a quick fix for a couple of days 😮
My husband told me all this and he is Service manager for Graphtec. He will be in Tech support on Friday if you ring then and ask to speak to Jeff.

    ah cheers everyone.

Thanks Jayne …. I will call Graphtec on Friday and speak to Jeff.
Fingers crossed it’s doesn’t cost shed loads.

If only they’d just put another cutting strip on. 🙄

It’s not major urgent as we have two other plotters running, but it does
need sorting as the Graphtec’s cutting is kinda ‘suspect’ as you’d imagine.
