Really thinking of switching to use Corel due to embroidery software running off the back of X4 and would rather understand one program to suit all our needs rather than multiple programs

There are lots of sorta knocked together ones on youtube you can also find lots on corels on website corel.com but i would say subscribing to lynda.com on a monthly/annual basis is the best way to go.
ide imagine there to be many tutorials on dvd also… but still ide opt for lynda.com ive been using it for two years now on and off.

John, if you are buying the Corel based Wilcom then Wilcom have training sessions on the net at set times of the month. They also have their dedicated forum embroiderystartup.com where you can ask any question you want. You can ask on here too and I and some others will surely help.
    Hope this helps
    Earl.

John, it might be worth going to http://www.unleash.com – Foster D. Coburn is a well known and respected Corel trainer, his site will give you or lead you to virtually everything you need to know.
The Corel Suite is one of the easier packages to learn and you can’t beat just using it, X4 comes with some Lyndi tutorials as well.
http://www.coreldraw .com – forums is another good place for specific questions answered by other users and some other Corel personnel, as is here of course.

    Hi John,

There is a company in Edinburgh that does excellent training but they charge around £600 a day though each extra man/woman is only about £150 training from scratch 0131 447 1647 highly recommend them.

Hope all is well with you John,

    Nigel

At £600 a day I would expect them to be bloomin’ brilliant. I picked it up from scratch and I would be surprised if the vast majority couldn’t do the same. It is unlikely that anybody would need to know every conceivable feature that Draw has but to learn the key features that you would use on a daily basis shouldn’t take that long.

£600 pounds is it expensive? maybe – how much do you charge for your day if you are going flat out? these guys used to work for Adobe and Corel and did the training for them – it cuts out a lot of the learning process, but like i said if there are 3 of you its only £300 per person and the price comes down – max of 4 or 5 folk though – I did a photoshop course with this company and it was worth every penny – If you are quiet and have the time to learn fine – if you are busy – learning the fundamentals in one sitting is good.

With any course I would always practice before attending and get to know something and have lots questions ready.

Just my thoughts and only me recommending something I have personally done. To me – well worth the money, you get a free pint and lunch too!

Perhaps I should Glenn, trouble is I like signmaking. I do help out other signmakers and printers occasionally, popping in for a morning to teach them the basics but I don’t include lunch although they have bought me a bag of chips before now. 😀

Using Lynda.com for now and I’ll obviously sit through the lessons at SignUK rather than sitting in the bar :lol1:

Ok maybe just the one lesson :lol1:
