  • does anyone give discount on multiple orders of banners?

Posted by Mike Grant on March 13, 2008 at 11:26 pm

I have had a request to quote on 30 banners. All full colour print, artwork supplied by the customer. I will be printing the banners in house. Size of banner is 2250 x 750mm
My question is this, if for example a single banner was for sake of argument..£100.00 each, what would be a fair discount for doing 30 off.

    Cheers
    Mike

Mods please note if I have crossed any lines, that I am not asking for a quotation, the £100 is just a starting point for the topic, just need to know what discount I could give for the quantity concerned.

Give them your individual banner price, then a price based on an order of 15, then one for 30. could be the old trick… "we need tons, but buy 5 after quoted" 😕 if you want to compete on a big banner order, sub it to a trade supplier, they will produce the lot probably as cheap as you can make it then add labour to it. frees you up to get on with things also…

The order didn’t come via phone relay or email from a Reverend in Africa by any chance?
Just hoping you are not getting scammed.

I was thinking the same Jill

Make sure you get a fat deposit that’ll cover any losses Mike

Mike, I can buy in high res finished banners at that size for about £50 each, so I would say for commercial quantities, that is the region you need to be looking at, as will your client,Higher quantities will be far lower

:lol1: No Jill this guy called into my workshop today. Its for a local boat show and he will take the 30 units. Any price given would be only for the full quantity.

As Rob says price for 1 off then the full qty. I would stick to your guns and ask for a decent deposit or payment if full.

The guy may be part of a committee and not actually have the power to say go ahead.

I had a guy OK a job prior to Christmas. Told him as it was an association and had a committee and materials were specific to the job payment would be in full, did a pro-forma and mid January the cheque arrived job done.
