    Hi all,

I would like to get in touch with anyone who airbrushes clothing, as I would love to start this myself and haven’t got a clue on inks or how to air brush!

I know this is a real big thing in the USA at the moment with custome made T-shirts and custome nike air force ones (nike trainers to you and me). I know some guys are selling this down at camden lock and those trainers are going for over £200 !!!

All they are (he says) are airbrushed graffiti names and cartoon characters, so if anyone has any information or knows anyone doing this, I would love to know what is involved.

    Thanks,
    Dave Payne

HI Dave, i use to do this for a livin in between finding my roots as a airbrush/custom sign writer – “wot i do now”, I use to airbrush graffiti style designs on hemp & cotten t-shirts, denims etc, was realy big at the time as it hit off just as the rave/dance sceen touched down, ended up dooin mass back drops at the time for the likes of fantasia & juice (barly legal-whare house partys etc). Also use to spray & merchandise at venues all over the uk. it all started off when i saw some american lads dooin airbrush beach sceens etc, so i had a do at this & ended up dooin all the other stuff resulting in the launch of “Graffiti Shax” & “Radica Jacks-e-ware” to mention a few. You basicly spray with iether water based or solvent based thinned down screen printing incs, available from “wh bollom” at salford, water born inks are heat set & best used on pale fabrics, t-shirts etc & the later on denims, canvas foot ware etc. If spraying on to latex rubber & leather, then use iether createx available from “the brush worx” or cuirtain side/banner sericol ink, available from most screen printing suppliers. Best airbrush for the job is the badger cresendo, avilable from machine mart, cheaper than any where for around £60.00, brilliant brush you can put anything through it, & very reliable, i use to just use 2 of these on live stage shows putting mixed paints & inks through them & they never jammed, you can also get your compressor from their to, but argos have a cracking banjo nail gun & compressor out at the moment for about £75.00, all you need to do then is get your leads & water traps etc from machine mart & you are away! Any more advice send me an email as im not always on line, If required i can train you how to do this or could do it for you. Hope this helps out,. All the best Pete . flyingsplash
