    Hi

Did anyone see this roll to roll / flatbed printer at Sign UK. Costs around 50K. Print width is 184cm max, resolution 600 x 600dpi. Just wondered what peoples opions are of it.

    Cheers

    Paul

i liked the look of the machine but only 600dpi ? max – the industry is defiantly moving to 720 as standard not that every thing gits done at that but as its its max 600 possibly not fast enough at that res also dint think it can do relay thick stuff

    I don’t have a 72uvr but I do have the solvent 72sr.

I’m confused about the comment that the printer isn’t fast enough but I don’t know enough about all of the competition. At the price point of the UVR, which printers are providing superiour speed and superiour resolution? I know a lot of the people around here (in Nova Scotia) are talking about the RasterPrinter with its 720 dpi output and lower hardware cost but word is that you can get about 35 sq ft an hour out of this machine. The Raster Printer output is nicer than the ColorSpan (have seen both) at this speed but the ColorSpan averages about 200 sq ft an hour at 600 dpi.

I would agree that the ColorSpan UVR could certainly use an ability to handle thicker media.

Anyhoo, like I said I don’t know enough about the UVR to argue but I’d certainly be eager to hear about other printers that are in the same price point. Never hurts to learn as I am sure there will be a day when I need UV…

Sounds like a great piece of kit. Just checked out the web site is there a UK distributor?
