I have a number of designers in my town who use my services, and being constant customers, who then have to sell on to end users, I give them a small but arbitrary discount on everything I do. It is all quite casual, but I would like to stay competitive.
What are the usual "trade" discounts people give? Is there even a rule of thumb for this?
    Simon.

Simon I think you need to determine whats in it for you, ie one thing to give a discount for regular work, but if your giving a trade discount that customer should be giving you print ready files or vectors hence you then give a trade discount based on the fact you have less work but retain the same profit margin for time spent.

If they cant do that then they are really just another punter 😀

    hope that helps

    John 😀

I’d say keep your designers happy if you dont have in an in house designer, but make sure they have no relevance on the price of your signs. And from the short time I’ve been in the biz, I would say the only rule of thumb is your market and how well you can upsell.
But i’m not a business owner, so grain of salt mate..
