  • Digital Print Vinyl – Hierarchy on quality?

Posted by Mike Thornley on January 23, 2019 at 1:44 pm

I suppose this had been done to death on this forum, but do members have opinions on a hierarchy on the quality of digital monomeric and polymeric vinyls

    For instance:
A top quality monomeric brand would be??
    Mid range brand etc
    Budget brand etc

I suppose we all have opinions on what we use, but are there any hard facts. Just another sales person telling me their vinyl is better than XYZ etc, as they would. So wanted to know are certain manufacturers products considered better quality than others etc

We use Metamark MD5 Polymeric for most outdoor signage jobs. Not had any problems with shrinkage etc.
    Good material, applies really well.

    Thanks

We always used Metamark MD5 as our premium 5 year vinyl until they launched MDI which is also 5 year, it’s cheaper and to be honest, there doesn’t seem to be a great difference in performance. All of our customers have been happy with it so far.
For our 3 year vinyl, we use Stickybits from Papergraphics. The white is spot on really but the laminate is a bit of a pain to work with as it’s so sticky.

    Hi
Thanks for the input – Wasn’t really looking for recommendations as such, more of a sort of list where members place different manufacturers in terms of quality that you have tried and used etc.
Like a Ford Focus is a car, but its not a Ferrari…. same thing but better.
