Did you Know?
Posted by Tim Painter on October 30, 2003 at 10:40 amJust read the did you know a Ferrule is the metal band around a paintbrush thing.
Its also a crimp type connector used in wiring consisting of a hollow tube with a plastic end crimped over wires prior to the wires being held by some mechanical type connection.
Sorry just day dreaming I guess back to when I use to do prototype wiring….. 😕

Some signwriters brushes are made with metal ferrules but now here’s a question
How were the natural sable hairs of signwriters brushes originally banded together?
(They can still be purchased in this way today)

they used warmed pig fat, dripped from a 10′ height to reach the exact temperature in which a small one eyed pigmy could implant each hair induvidually all at the same time.
