what do people do to reduce the flex on the face of a large comp. aluminium sign tray, got a couple here at 1100high and am wondering about maybe gluing or taping some angle vertically on the rear to stop it flexing. is this worthwhile / required? Anyone have other options?

    Many thanks, G

Nope, not lit or fret cut, standard tray, 80mm returns, 2800mm wide.

are you having a gloss face of matt face ?

You will need to be more careful if gloss face at the angle would witness on the face – we sometimes use an offcut of alucobond say 150mm wide bond that into back of panel and then bond the angle to it spreads the load a little

Gavin, I make a quick 2×2 wooden frame, fit that, then fit the tray to that, makes it very rigid

you could always vhb tape some ‘L’ angle to the rear although i’ve built many big dibond trays and never used anything to stop flex, no complaints or failures yet.
