    Hi all
this was completed some time ago, the sign was fitted by the customers staff to save money and has taken some time. We supplied the sign and also the lighting which is shown on the bottom in red i also supplied lighting for the top which was in yellow but only the brackets have been fitted. I made this from one sheet of 10 x 5 and also a 15 x 5 but they have yet to fit this, the sign was folded in to a tray like normal the only difference is the sheet was in yellow and i sprayed the lower part in red, the reason was i could have used 1220 vinyl but didnt want to join corners with vinyl. Hope you like Rich 😀 😀

looks great, did you have faith in the ‘lads’ to fit your nice looking sign? or was you expecting it to go up looking a little battered.

how did you spray the bottom section btw

what equipment did you use if any, and any special kind of paint to stick to the dibond – sorry if im sounding too much of a noob but having been the manager of a sign company and now suddenly being the owner of one and on ‘my jack jones’, gonna have to pick up some tips on the things that i would have normally just farmed out, looking after the pennies now, :lol1:

    Hi mate
My gun is a devilbiss hvlp gti gravity feed.
The paint used on this sign was cellulose paint
The dibond was preped with red scotch and cleaned with spirit wipe and then tacked off.
Painted 3 coats @ 50/50 then last coat 30/70 thinner to gloss out

    Hope this helps Rich

    Richard,

    Sign looks great

I’m just puzzled as to why you would need to join the vinyl on the edges

we would just lay the vinyl on while the sign was flat & then bend the returns as normal

correct but after you have bent you would still need to cut the corners and join, this is just a neater solution
