I posted here because pictures were needed, Mods please move if in the wrong place’

this is just a quicky to explaain how I do it.

I didnt have an image to do so I have used 2 colours of vinyl for clarity.

    1. I normally use a 5mm overlap when tiling, but have used a large one here, again so it can be seen.

    2. The top overlap is cut back to the image I also trim about .5 to 1mm from the print to ensure no white shows.

    3. marry up the image and tack with masking.

    4. Next you can either app tape the whole image or if needed without app tape, just a strip

    5. if using app tape, it now ready to apply, hinge from below the join and apply the top first.

6 I needed without app tape fold back and trim the backing paper a few mm more than the overlap.

    7. squeegey down and remove strip of app tape…

    Hope this is usfull

Thanks for the demo Peter a great help and I will be using it in the future of that i’m sure, fantastic for image line-up. On the first picture the orange vinyl is showing a white strip with a clean cut, have you cut through the vinyl by hand without cutting the backing paper or i’m I still missing something.

thick as two short planks Russ.

Russ, I done know what program you use but in signab I place a weed border round the image with bleed (the cut is then a few mm inside the image) I then set the tiling parameters, overlap etc.

When tiled the excess vinyll is removed leaving a border round the image.

The red vinyl being the overlap, I cut with a straight edge.
