• Decals on edge

Posted by Shaun Harris on November 17, 2008 at 5:06 pm

What is the preferred vinyl thickness for stickers/decals I have some edge ready vinyl I bought from spandex which is fine when applied to different media but seems a bit thin and stretchy to use as decals or labels.

The static cling I have from Metamark (170 micron) is more substantial but where can I get white vinyl this thick and would this be the correct thickness?

    Hi Shaun
We use Oracle 641 or Avery 500 for our stickers / Decals. Very occasionally Oracle 551 or Avery 700.
Only had one question about thickness, but the client was installing on to a sign in 34 degrees centigrade, full sun, hot substrate when I say hot you could fry eggs on it. No wonder the vinyl was a bit stretchy.
    cheers Mike
