  • Deals offered with inkjet?

Just been offered a absolutely fantastic deal on a new Jetster/Mutoh Rockhopper 46 inc 1220mm plotter, RIP, Laminator etc, opposed to a cadet for a more competitive price, now I’ve actually ordered a printer, but no recognition nor confirmation has been been supplied within a week, nor a proposed delivery date so therefore with a huge amount of cash (not finance) to be spent, should I go Jetster/ Rockhopper/Mutoh with *all* its extras or the cadet, with none?

Just wondered as I don’t wait around when I spend cash for no-one

Nah mate, think I’ll be giving that a miss, not that much different than e6 from what I can see, couldn’t open the new 7 (still .cdl) files within e6 and as we do use e6 daily it means if we create something in 7, we’ll have to use that pc to cut / print, design/draft etc is not always done in the office.
I really don’t want to take e6 off just to replace it with 7 as e6 does all we need ( apart from printing , given up on that 😉 ) unless of course the e6 files are fully compatible, it does print / cut and the upgrade is cheap (£100 or less) 😉
How much is the upgrade to the top print/cut 7 package?

thats one of the things that bugs me with signlab, i think its an amazing bit of kit but when we bought newer versions the cdl files arent compatable with the older versions we have. having 5 signlabs its a pain in the backside 😕

You’re not the first to say that, even Illustrator and Corel can save backwards

I think one of the points of saving backwards is to retain text editing, I don’t think this is possible with an export. It can be a pain here and I have only one Signlab for those with more than 2, 3 or more the prospect of having to upgrade all of them to retain the studio flexibility is enough to put you off. Cadlink are you listening? especially when your competitors are more flexible (no pun intended outline)
