Cutting Master 2 will not work under Mac OS-X Lion. This is because it runs as a Power-PC application and Lion prohibits this. I’ve emailed Graphtec about this and they are aware of the problem and say they will address this. If there are any Mac users who use Cutting Master in Illustrator who plan to use Lion then please email Graphtec. You never know – the more people who email them the faster they will upgrade…

Lions not out yet so you’ll be fine, if you wait a week you’ll get it pre installed. I’ve emailed graphtec also as I’ll upgrade as soon as as everything else works fine for me

Its due out this month, but I’m sure they will just be doing what they did last time and handing you a CD with it on but they are going for the whole Mac Store thing now so maybe you will get a promo code to download it.

I got hold of a beta version to test, I think it’s great, just little tweaks made things so much better, if parallels get their **** in gear and update to work along side the new full screen mode, it could be everything I need as still need windows for certain programs, oh and not forgetting cm2!

The only issue I found with it was the mouse scrolling is in reverse, takes a bit of getting used to.

I got a reply from Graphtec.

    "thank you for your email.

We have been informed that Cutting Master II is not yet compatible with OSX Lion. Please see the attached information document from Graphtec Corporation in Japan. We expect a compatible version to be available in the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, we are advising all of our customers to delay upgrading to OSX Lion until the upgrade is available.

I apologise if this causes any inconvenience"

Not going to happen in the next few weeks i’m afraid.

NOTE: Cutting Master 2 for Adobe Illustrator® and Mac OS X Lion will be available November 15, 2011.

Looks like i’m gonna have to wait that little bit longer to upgrade

Off topic but is Cutting Master any good? I use Magisign at the moment but there’s no upgrades available for Lion or CS5 even….

Anyone know if it has been fixed? So Cutting master works with Leopard?

I’m a bit late with this answer but:
when the magisign developper (who is also a graphtec and other brands suppliers) came to me the last time he delivered some heat press and other bits, he said that magisign development is on hold and from what I know will not be updated (Magisign will never work on Lion).

According to him, development effort is not worth enough as cutters now come with free plugins. He still sells licences anyway for people looking for a software compatible with old cutters and OS.

For cutting master: I don’t know any Magisign feature that CuttingMaster can’t do (except controlling other cutters than Graphtec ones). I use it daily with no problem at all (from Illy CS4 and SnowLeopard or WinXP).

As i quickly noticed this thread popup again, I just wondered if anyone has an issue with the cutting master plugin.

When i do an overlay, i select one colour cut it then i go back and select the other colour than cut it. After lining up he graphics, they never align exactly to what i have on screen, always slightly out, i.e if i have a blue outline with a white text overlay, the gap is always out, not by a great deal and i can cope with it but it’s annoying. Is this the software of the cutter (CE5000 120)
