  • Cutting in reverse & vertical ?

Posted by Scott Dee on February 19, 2010 at 7:35 pm

Evening all, got a strange one but there maybe an easy fix….
I had a problem with drivers on a P-cut I’ve been using for a few weeks,
It’s now cutting again BUT it’s in reverse ( no the flip buttons not pressed )
If i try to cut the word TEST it is coming out flipped and vertical 😮

And if I change it to cut horizontal it is cutting vertical
Im sure this is a setting somewhere but im lost to where it is,
Im using Flexi7.6 , I had no problems before I reinstalled it 😮
    Any ideas
    thanks

🙁 Installed it in two PCs now and its still cutting flipped and vertical 😮
I thought I’d be ok using it like this but after trying to cut some text vertical at over 2ft it’s coming out in two parts

Anyone had this problem or know anyone I can speak too ? 🙁

    hi dude,

i don’t have flexi or p-cut so can’t help specifically, i know a good few people have had problms with p-cut plotters, pretty sure i recall seeing this topic before too, have a look through the p-cut section as well as flexi, an advanced search might be worth a go.

could vertical cutting be due to some kind of auto rotate feaure that is fixed in some way?

some plotters have mirror and rotate commands in there menu not just in the software.

    Thanks for the replies guy’s
I’m 100% sure it’s not the software as it’s the same in flexi and artcut
Ive looked at the settings on the cutter and I can’t see any settings in there that would do what this is doing 🙁
I’ll have a look to see if I can find that thread now Hugh….

    thanks

This sounds like a driver issue of there is no way of changing the origin via the front panel.
In the plotter setup, make sure you have selected Creation P-Cut as the manufacturer, and CT630 DMPL as the model (if that’s the right model).

Hi Peter, yes I’m sure this is a driver problem just not sure how to solve it 🙁
PM is set up as CT-630 DMPL@com2 but it still going in reverse and vertical
Iv search all over but can’t seem to find any answers to this one 🙁
If I change it to CT-630@com2 then it will cut from left to right and wont finish the last cut but it will stay horizontal

    😕

Ohhhh I should of bought a Roland :lol1:
Well after installing SB I have it working fine, cutting the right way and not vertical…. but as I use Flexi and that’s what I know I’m still cutting everything upside down and back to front 😮

But now I know it’s a driver problem for sure, only thing thats bugging me is why would it work fine for weeks then just drop a driver 😮
And I’ve tried every driver on the disk now and none will make it work better 🙁

Just mirror and reverse everything on screen before you cut it then.
Aahhh, the joys of owning a P-Cut.

That’s the only way I can use it now Peter lol
Note to self :- do your homework before buying anything :headbang2:
I can see me moving up very soon to another 🙂

    Hi Scott,

just wondered, did you solve the vertical/horizontal problem with your Pcut? I’m having the same problem 🙁

An off the cuff remark, but changing the bitt values on your PC can solve driver issues.

Sorry for the very late reply mate, but no never sorted the problem out….
But im that used to it now it’s normal to me :lol1:
It is 100% the drivers but just not got round to messing with them 😳
Matty, I dont think it is the problem as I have tried this on 2 pc’s and it;s the same with the drivers I have…. strange very strange but like I said it works fine, just a little different than others :lol1:
